Lessons are my way to share with you my passion inviting you in a journey to discover the pottery world, the clays which it forms from .... and in some way yourself!
working with clay
Working with clay with bare hands, touching earth, feeling its heat, consistency, texture, watching our hands taking on its colour, it’s a sensory and meditative experience which has ancestral reminiscences. The physical touch with the material generates a well being feeling and gets us in touch with the deepest part of ourselves, relaxes and sets us in the actual current moment we are experiencing, breaking out for that short temporal oasis, the habit to live in remembering past events or planning future ones, which is what all of us have the tendency to do most of the time.
Modelling something from a lump of shapeless clay, going through gestures repeated for millennia, alway the same, since our first ancestors, creates a connection to our deepest roots, to our most primitive side, to the matter which generated us and the home which since ever holds us all, the planet which not by chance we use to call just with the name of this matter: EARTH!
Working with clay is about all of this….and much more! If you feel that this touches your cords put yourself into the game…and come play with us!
hand-building
The hand-building modelling technique is the most primitive ad immediate way to work clay, using as the main tool your bare hands, with the help with only essential tools.
The course is based on independent group lessons, meaning that it is possible to freely attend each of them whenever you like, at one of the scheduled meeting.
The lessons are suitable for any level of experience, being each of you constantly individually supported by me.
In each lesson are provided the base indispensable knowledge, theoretic and practical of one of the main pottery working technique and or of its decoration.
In each lesson you will be able to make a complete object, which belong to the student, who can take at home once gone through the firing process.
throwing at the wheel
The lessons at the wheel are only one to one, run for a minimum of two hours and do not include material and firings (optional), which in any case for beginners are a minimum extra cost.
The lessons are suited for complete beginners. I will take you step by step through all the creation phase, from centering the clay, to making shapes up to the final fish trimming the work.
You will then have the chance (optionally) to attend a decorative and or glazing lesson to complete and finish your work making it usable.

decoration and glazing
In between the modelling cycles time by time will take place decoration and glazing workshops, during which it will be possible to decorate the pieces created at the modelling lessons or to decorate pieces made by myself, in the case you don’t have one made by yourself.
I will show you and you will experience the decoration techniques at the different clay consistency stages, fresh clay, leather hard, bone dry: impression, engraving, cutting
You will be introduced to the glazing process of the piece at the biscuit stage and to vary and suggestive glazing technique and decorations with glazes.
The pieces will have the final firing and… eventually you will be able to take it at home with you!
workshops
Periodicamente sono organizzati workshops a tema su particolari tecniche di modellazione meno comuni, sebbene molto affascinanti, nonchè su tecniche di decorazione e di smaltatura avanzata.

E’ possibile organizzare eventi privati per incontri di team building, addio al nubilato o celibato, o feste private.
Il gruppo deve essere minimo di 6 persone massimo di 14 persone e si usufruirà di un prezzo più vantaggioso.

open studio
Quando raggiungerai una certa padronanza nella lavorazione dell’argilla, nella modellazione manuale e/o al tornio, e di familiarità con il laboratorio, o se hai già precedenti esperienze e sei in grado di lavorare autonomamente, ti sarà possibile continuare il percorso, praticare liberamente e approfondire nuove tecniche e nuove forme. Con la formula dell’open studio, sarà possibile usufruire del laboratorio in autonomia, con a disposizione la strumentazione e gli attrezzi per la modellazione e la decorazione, ad un costo ridotto, in giorni ed orari prestabiliti, con la mia presenza costante e con minima supervisione.
